First Time Waxing Guide
First Time Brazilian Wax: What to Expect
Thinking about getting your first Brazilian wax? You’re not alone.
For many people, the first appointment can feel a little intimidating. The good news is that once you know what to expect, the process is much easier than most people imagine!
At The Groomed Goose, we specialize in making first-time waxing clients feel comfortable and confident.
Here’s what you should know before your appointment.
Before Your Appointment
Hair should be about ¼ inch long for the wax to work effectively.
Try to avoid shaving for at least 2–3 weeks before your appointment so the hair has time to grow out.
Some clients also find it helpful to gently exfoliate the area a day or two before waxing.
Don’t trim! Leave the hair long, we can work with it!
During the Wax
Your waxer will guide you through the entire process step by step.
The appointment usually takes 10–15 minutes, and most people are surprised by how quick it is.
You may feel some brief discomfort during hair removal, but the sensation passes quickly.
Many clients say the anticipation is actually worse than the wax itself.
After Your Brazilian Wax
After waxing, it’s normal for the skin to be slightly pink or sensitive for a few hours.
To protect your skin, avoid:
• Hot baths or saunas
• Intense workouts
• Tight clothing
• Heavy lotions or oils
These precautions help prevent irritation and ingrown hairs.
The Best Part About Waxing
Once you start waxing regularly, hair typically grows back softer and finer over time.
Most clients schedule their Brazilian wax every 4–6 weeks to maintain smooth skin.
If it’s your first time, don’t worry. You’re in good hands!
At The Groomed Goose in Denver, our goal is to make your waxing experience as comfortable and stress-free as possible!
